The Cucumbers

Did you ever wonder what happened to your favorite artists from way back when? The Cucumbers had been favorites of mine in the mid-80’s, when they put out their local hit “My Boyfriend”, and had their video for their cover of “All Shook Up” running on U-68 (UHF MTV equivalent broadcast from Newark running more indie stuff – I think it’s a home shopping channel now). I’d seen them in 1986 at the (late) Chestnut Cabaret. When I did a web search on a lark to see if I could find any info about them – I found out that they were still performing. I never thought that I’d see them play again, let alone in MyDiningRoom.

The show highlights included the performance of certain songs that had been written as a side project for kids called “Over the Moon”, to which my children knew all the words, and showing the band an album they autographed for me in 1986 – they promised to play for me again in another 14 years.
