Richard X. Heyman

A suggestion from a friend, and the fortuitous discovery of his CD “Living Room” in a bargain bin, led us to this show. It seemed appropriate to invite to MyDiningRoom, a man who had recorded his first album in his living room (thus the title).

Richard arrived with his wife (and bassist) Nancy, and our new friend Kurt – from The Grip Weeds – on drums (Kurt, who lives in town - had visited to check out the venue several weeks earlier) – a “cocktail” type setup to keep the volume down. We also made new friends at the show, as this was the first show to be promoted on the artist’s web site – a trend that continues, and has influenced our decision to start our own site.

Despite the “early” hour (many bands have explained that they’re just not used to being awake for an afternoon show), Richard put on two excellent sets. A little tea for the throat and off we went…
