The Maggies

This was a real summer event! With The Maggies playing for a crowd consisting of about 50% MyDiningRoom regulars and 50% Maggies family and friends (they seem to have a strong NY/NJ connection), and kids and adults spilling out onto the front lawn, this show had the feeling of an extended family reunion. In fact, had one of Philip's (The Maggies' lead singer) close friends shown up, the whole thing would have come full circle, as it turned out that his buddy is my second cousin (we did 6 degrees of separation in 2-3 steps). The music was a bit mellower than usual, but fit the day perfectly - very pretty and relaxed. With the exception of one small problem - I ran out of propane for the grill - that the band dealt with by playing a couple more songs as I cooked dinner in the kitchen (I've got to use that ploy more often!), a beautiful day with beautiful music.
