OK, so the crowd was a bit thin, but that didn't seem to matter a bit. Parallax Project put on a couple of sets that each led off with band leader Michael Giblin playing solo acoustic guitar and singing. This rolled in to a full electric attack. Considering that they'd just returned from LA (IPO) the day before, the amount of energy in their sets was amazing. Songs included their own (of course) as well as covers - including one from Michael and Paul's (drummer) other band, Cherry Twister.
Speaking of Paul, he has been declared a, "drinkmaster extraordinaire," by
those of us in MyDiningRoom. Before beginning the first set, he created a
new drink, and added two others during the break. They have now become the
first of our House Drinks.
Finally, my daughter's record as being the youngest member of our audience
(she joined us for Nixon's Head at age 3 months) was broken by regulars who
brought their 2 1/2 week old daughter. OK, so she spent most of her time
upstairs, but she seemed to enjoy what she heard (of course she did, who
wouldn't?).
